PATIENCE MONTH: DAY 18: “So much in a revolution is nothing but waiting.” ― Sinclair Lewis
We are all engaged in a personal revolution. We are transforming ourselves, with the help of the Power of Creation, into the unique and powerful individuals we came here to be. That kind of revolution is so dynamic and takes the work we embark on to shift our energy and our thinking completely from one direction into another.
We are hell-bent on a life of misery and unhappiness, believing all that the Ego instructs us to believe. And we are dying from that way of life. Then, we come here, finding that there is nothing outside of us that is a problem. It is INSIDE of us where the problem lies.
In our thinking, period. In our beliefs. In the story we made up when we were children and have clung to without question until it has destroyed everything good and fine in us and around us.
We get to this place and truly believe that the problem lies in the substances of our abuse. NO!!! It lies in the things we believe and cling to without questioning them. The way we see the world and our part in it. The undying devotion we have to a bullshit story we have told for so long; we have come to believe it.
And we work these steps, and do not see this the first 20 or 30 times we go through them. We cannot, it is too big for us to handle. Then, after years of working toward a more spiritual viewpoint, a true shift in our perspective, we see tiny pieces of the bullshit we have held onto.
And we begin to question and doubt the veracity of that story. As we begin to do so, more is revealed. But we must understand that this is the work of a lifetime, not a few months, or even years. A lifetime…of WORK!
And so it IS a revolution! A huge one! And the energy begins to shift into a paradigm where we are just a tiny piece of a gigantic whole. And that the only shift we need to make has nothing to do with where we live or what we have, but what we do and what we believe about it all.
That is it! But, it takes forever and most of us, even those who do not drink or use drugs for long periods of time, will NEVER get there. Never! Because they believe it is all about the drinking or drugging and their abstinence from that. It isn’t, but that is the biggest secret of all.
It is about letting go of the things you believe. About your life, about yourself, about the nature of life and the Universe and the Power that created ALL of it. We are in a revolution here, and no one is talking about that, either. This shit is just too good to be made up!
