FAITH MONTH: DAY 28: “I had to deny knowledge in order to make room for faith.” ― Immanuel Kant
I love philosophy. I love taking philosophy classes and what we can learn from those who defined life and the world for hundreds of years before, and even after, the advent of technology.
We have to consistently and constantly deny knowledge, because life evolves every minute from the place where we were before.
In this ongoing, constantly shifting paradigm, many people get stuck and lost. It is not necessarily about keeping up with technology, which I personally do not believe possible. But, it IS about keeping up with how it is all evolving, and recognizing that we cannot possibly be the same people from one day to the next. Usually, we are different people from the person we woke up being, by the time our heads hit the pillows at night.
This means that we cannot (or maybe it is only me???) live with a Finite definition and concept of Life and the Power from one moment to the next. I have had to re-define the Power and Life in almost every moment of my existence.
That is why we get stuck in religious bodies that do not shift and change with the world around them. If we have doubt, it is because they do not grow. And life does. And so do we. Our thinking on these things MUST shift to accommodate the world in which we live and our relationship with it.
I have watched so many people fail to grasp this simple idea. That Life is not fixed. That the Universal Power, and nothing it creates or created, is fixed. Creation is not finite. We are not finite. Nothing is finite. Nothing is fixed. Nothing can be set in stone or concrete and that really messes with us.
We want certainty and guarantees and insurance policies. That will never work with Creation or the Power or anything that exists. So, knowledge, as Mr. Kant explains, is a limited thing for all of us. It is increasing moment by moment, if we are truly embracing life. If our minds are closed, we will never be able to have a spiritual existence. It cannot happen in that kind of vacuum.
The battle is ON! Addiction stands in the first square and refuses to move. We must stand with that or jump away from it into the next square to move on. If remaining stuck in addiction, then we must die with that certainty or learn to fly into an uncertain space where ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING is not only possible, but certain. Oh yeah!
