LOVE MONTH: DAY 30: “Spread the foundation of love everywhere, so that it grows up through the cracks in hatred.” — Terri Guillemets
There are frightened people all over the world. It is a rampant and devastating condition that afflicts so many! We fight wars based on fearful beliefs. We harm ourselves and others, based on fearful beliefs.
Fear has broken our planet and our lives.
We can choose to love without fear. We can choose to show love and kindness in the face of fearful thinking and beliefs. When we do this, an extra dose of love may overflow and go into a space where we did not know love was needed.
This happens all the time. There is a person who radiates love and kindness, and the world is healed a bit for their presence. This is the message of someone like Mother Teresa and many others who have walked this planet as great teachers.
They had no agenda, were not trying to get laid, had no purpose for their unconditional and abundant love, except that it was in them to share freely.
This is a lovely part of life. Some of us have received this kind of love, without judgment, without an agenda.
That someone wants only for you to be at peace and to be loved. And to fulfill your highest purpose on this planet, according to the Will of that Creative Power that brought you here. That brought all of us here.
So, what if we gave love equally to spiders and puppies? To the bank robber as the flowers? To the crippled, unwashed, and homeless as to the President? To the mentally ill as to the highest paid actress? What if?
Practice unconditional acceptance and love for even one day. It is a challenge and will go against all the conditioning you have received in this life. It is a spiritual calling that is made manifest in the 12th Step, because we are sometimes called to carry this message to the spiders of this world, the bank robbers of this world, the crippled, unwashed and homeless of this world; and to the mentally ill of this world.
What if we just loved them first and foremost, without being in a position to Carry the Message?
What if we just loved everyone, because we were all given love, most of us on our worst ever day. And that was the thing that healed our hopelessness and despair.
We were accepted and loved, through our shame and rage, through our sorrow and pain. We were accepted and loved by those who had received it as well. This IS the gift of a spiritual path. That we remember and pay it back. Always pay it back.
