We all pay prices for where we go in this world. Sometimes we think we are taking shortcuts with things, but the price for that comes after…sometimes long after. And we may not even know it is related, but we cannot fool the Universal Power, nor do we ever truly fool ourselves.
I have watched people pay prices for things, as I have myself. We try to figure out what it is all about and some of us may do the “Why Me?” thing.
But in our hearts we know we have been less than honorable in ways we would like to justify or explain away. That is the purpose of these steps.
To rectify and amend our wrongs. Period. To clean up everything in our lives that stands between us and that Power. To create a clean and free space inside where we can go in and sit comfortably in our skin and commune with the Power.
And we cannot do that without this process, over and over again. It is necessary for us to have that spiritual connection. Not just an awakening, but a constant presence of peace in our lives that is unshakeable in even the most tempestuous times.
THAT is recovery. That is what I am after here. Not 5 minutes of peace, but days, weeks, months of certain knowing that I am okay and the world is okay and I am not in charge of it all. YAY!
