FAITH MONTH: DAY 22: “Faith in God includes Faith in God’s timing.”― Neal A. Maxwell

This is the hard part…waiting…patiently, for Universe to unfold. Not that we can live any faster or any further out than today. But we sure want to!

And if we are waiting for outcomes and answers, we stomp our feet and scream like babies having temper tantrums. So, I think that faith incorporates this part…the unknowing of when and how things will unfold.

We certainly do NOT see that manifest in the world around us much today. So few people have navigated this situation well.

I was meditating on the early part of the 20th Century. People had a pandemic that was so much the same as this one. Which was preceded by a horrific World War. And they went into the Great Depression not too long after that.

I have never heard of any of these people screaming and stomping their feet to get their situation resolved faster than others. They did not push and shove and demand things the way people are now. They did not declare Spring Break their right, nor have I heard that there was a lot of ugliness (Ego) that we see in this time.

I respect the few I have seen who work to care for others, who are selfless and helping, rather than selfish and demanding and destructive, screaming and raging about their situation. Perhaps this IS the spiritual path. So few are walking here…

I am a therapist and counselor with long-term recovery from addictions and personal trauma. My writing reflects these experiences and the road I have traveled in 12-Step recovery settings, along with the work I have done for over 30 years in the field. My love of dolphins includes the stories of them being healers in places all over the world. I long to offer every broken spirit and body the experience of a healing hug. May my words and stories inform, uplift and delight your spirit and soothe your weary heart.
