FAITH MONTH: DAY 3: “Lord, when I feel that what I’m doing is insignificant and unimportant, help me to remember that everything I do is significant and important in your eyes, because you love me and you put me here, and no one else can do what I am doing in exactly the way I do it.”― Brennan Manning

We all have something to bring into this world. We all have a journey, a path, that is perfect in each and every day. No mistakes can be made because all options are open to the Universal Power. Only those things that are going to feed our journey will be placed in front of us.

Isn’t that a peaceful thought? A peaceful feeling? That is what faith is all about. It ain’t sitting in a building and listening to someone preach about the “don’ts” in this world. It is all about allowing life to be what it is. The preachers have no idea what your path is…what options the universe is presenting to you in this day. None of us knows for another person. We can only allow life to be what it is in our lives and see how that connects us with others.

Seldom do we know the duration or extent of that connection. Moments change lifetimes. If you don’t believe that, ask anyone who has unprotected sex, and a baby ensues from that encounter. Life changing, right?

These things are exactly what we are here to do, or they would not happen. I believe that with all my heart. You all know I am a huge fan of Dr. Paul O. And he says so succinctly….”Nothing, absolutely nothing, happens in God’s world by mistake.” I cannot argue with that. Cannot and do not want to. It is the spiritual foundation of my faith. That everything is perfect, and Ego can shut the hell up when it wants to tell me otherwise. Snap!

I am a therapist and counselor with long-term recovery from addictions and personal trauma. My writing reflects these experiences and the road I have traveled in 12-Step recovery settings, along with the work I have done for over 30 years in the field. My love of dolphins includes the stories of them being healers in places all over the world. I long to offer every broken spirit and body the experience of a healing hug. May my words and stories inform, uplift and delight your spirit and soothe your weary heart.
