DISCIPLINE MONTH: DAY 22: “For every disciplined effort, there is multiple reward.”― Jim Rohn

I experience this so often! There is a great reward for how I eat and exercise. My energy is amazing!

And a great reward for the things I do to give back to others…the way I feel about myself and my life. There is great reward for everything we do. I believe in karma. I always have.

There are so many stories I have about teaching myself and others to walk this path and seeing how Universal Power comes to our aid at just the right moment. This happens in huge ways and in tiny ways, and in my life, it happens almost every day. What a great way to be, to live, and to do life.

The more I do in the Universe, the more service I perform, the better I feel. The greater my life becomes. I do not mean writing a check or doing things for family, although those are the only service so many are doing. I mean really putting ourselves out there for others. There is no greater feeling than knowing that I got out of myself for even an hour or two.

The biggest shift in my life is that of service. Not just sponsoring people, but doing things that stretch me in my comfort zone and that no one ever knows about. That is real service. Sponsorship helps me more than those I sponsor. They seldom do any of the work the way it should be done. That is all they get in return; half measures. And the BB states that half measures avail us nothing. I see it. Too bad they are willing to settle for that. Not me. I want the biggest, the most, and the best recovery I can get. So I do the deepest work I know how and then some.

Am reading another wonderful book that is stretching and challenging me to grow in a direction I have not worked in for a long while. I love that! I cannot ever rest on my laurels because I want something new all the time. And I get it! I love this life and the multiple rewards I receive.

I am a therapist and counselor with long-term recovery from addictions and personal trauma. My writing reflects these experiences and the road I have traveled in 12-Step recovery settings, along with the work I have done for over 30 years in the field. My love of dolphins includes the stories of them being healers in places all over the world. I long to offer every broken spirit and body the experience of a healing hug. May my words and stories inform, uplift and delight your spirit and soothe your weary heart.
