FAITH MONTH: DAY 18: “Fear is the glue that keeps you stuck. Faith is the solvent that sets you free.” ― Shannon L. Alder
We have a disease of the ego. This is not just us, but an entire culture, as I see it. We live on the basis of “things” rather than heart. Mind, rather than heart. Money rather than heart. The more we rely on those outside conditions, rather than our spiritual center, we are doomed to live in fear.
Fear is the Ego’s greatest (and only!) tool. It speaks to us in terms of gloom and doom, promising that there is no hope, no way out. We cannot see solutions, because we can only contemplate (sometimes for hours!) the problem. And this focus on our own self-interests is what keeps us miserable, loaded, and unhappy.
As long as we believe that we must rely on our minds to resolve those seeming conflicts, we are doomed to continue to live in Hell. When we are able to transcend this thinking and our dependence on it, we begin to live free of the muck and the mire that keep us down.
Our spirits are screaming for release! Not just from substances, but from the thinking that made them seem like a solution in the first place. We MUST step outside the tiny box of believing drugs and alcohol are the problem. Then we begin to have more problems than solutions.
We must see that reliance on our minds is the problem. Belief that our culture has tools that may help and aid us in doing this life thing is so debilitating, because it is not now, nor ever has been, and never will be the solution.
All creative solutions come from the Creative Universe. We cannot do this. Nor can anyone else. Our solutions will always come from somewhere “out there” in exactly the moment they are needed. We may ask or pray or beg, borrow and steal to meet them sooner, but their arrival is timed, along with all other things Universal in the perfect moment for our true needs. Oh!
When we have this experience a few times, we may learn to stand down and wait. Most of us learn this, but still don’t believe it can or will continue to happen. Those of us who are riddled with fear and impatience will try to get the answer faster. Hahahahaha…my old friend Mike Hiddleston, used to say, “Don’t bleed till you are shot.” I think this is the best thing I ever heard about how impatient we are around here.
We want all the answers, so we can control and enjoy the outcomes. This is called CONTROL. And, because it is based 100% in self-centered fear, we will NEVER get it. Okay! Let go and Let God, remember that one? It works, and so beautifully it brings tears to my eyes…yay!
