ACCEPTANCE MONTH: DAY 5: “How wonderful! How wonderful! All things are perfect, exactly as they are.” ― Gautama Buddha
YES! And our only job here (but it is tremendously challenging!) is to live with that. Over and over again, we are brought home to the simple truth that life is perfect, we are perfect, all things are perfect, and it is going to always be perfect.
Frequently, when someone asks me how I am, I have responded with “I am perfect.” This truly messes with others; which is something I am fond of.
But it is a reminder for me that I am truly perfect. I can see all the flaws in my physical being, in my behavior, in my attitudes, my way of living, dressing, walking, etc. But, I also recognize that it is all perfect right at this moment. All of it! Hooray!
It is not an arrogant thing for me to believe. It is the truth of the Universe. And it makes me laugh to get that on a deep level, where I am happy with the way life is RIGHT NOW! We are so wont to wait for this or that thing to happen, so we can BE whatever we are waiting to BE. Do it NOW! IT is already the perfect time, and this is the perfect place and all conditions have been perfectly met.
And my hair is perfect, and my fingernails are perfect, and my smile is perfect, but so is my frown or my scowl or my sneer or my yawn. (I just did all of that, so I could see if they were really perfect!) Hahahaha…this messes SO much with the human ego. Hahahaha…what fun!
I laugh and laugh with this acceptance stuff. Because, no matter what argument you can come up with to explain how life ISN’ T perfect right now, I already had that argument as I was writing this. Hahaha…and I have written this before you read it and argued with it…HAHAHAHA!
See what I mean? So, go out and have a perfect day, wonderful in all the things that will occur and teach us and how we get to grow today.
Accept the teachings and the growth, or they WILL be back again tomorrow. And THAT, too, is perfect. That is ALL…I LOVE this shit!
