COURAGE MONTH: DAY 18: “Without courage, wisdom bears no fruit.”― Baltasar Gracian

We learn so much in a lifetime. Most of it will remain as information, which is carried in the mind/Ego space.

Wisdom is what travels “the longest mile” from the head into the heart. Then we are LIVING the information instead of dealing with it through Ego. Huge difference!

When we walk with what we know rather than just “knowing” the information, we are practicing the principles more than practicing the Ego.

It takes courage to walk this road. We have to let go of pleasing ourselves and others with things that do not feed the spirit. We let go of looking good and begin to do good. We do what is right instead of what feels good for 5 minutes. We stop taking the shortcuts and walk a higher path. There is very little that looks like where we came from.

When we know better, it is only with Grace that we learn to do and be better. And nothing can speak of courage more than doing what is right and good in every area of our lives.

I am a therapist and counselor with long-term recovery from addictions and personal trauma. My writing reflects these experiences and the road I have traveled in 12-Step recovery settings, along with the work I have done for over 30 years in the field. My love of dolphins includes the stories of them being healers in places all over the world. I long to offer every broken spirit and body the experience of a healing hug. May my words and stories inform, uplift and delight your spirit and soothe your weary heart.
