PATIENCE MONTH: DAY 31: “Wait for it Son, to be a good writer you must learn to be patient with your listening and as for the story, it is far from over; there is much more to come.”― Kanika Sharma

Although patience is not only a good trait for writers, it is SO true that the story is always far from done. There have been numerous times in my life that I was despairing because things had not turned out the way I thought they should.

My life is a slow work in progress. And that is not always how I want it to be. I get impatient for so many things. Always have. And I could have shot myself in the foot by trying to get it over with before time was ripe.

I could settle for half measures, and pay a price later down the road, I could settle for the relationships that aren’t “quite right” rather than let the Universal Power bring those things to me that are perfect. I have been guilty of trying to turn the page forever before I was done with that page. It is not a good trait to be impatient. I am not done yet, and as this quote so beautifully reminds me, “…it is far from over; there is much more to come.” So glad…

I am a therapist and counselor with long-term recovery from addictions and personal trauma. My writing reflects these experiences and the road I have traveled in 12-Step recovery settings, along with the work I have done for over 30 years in the field. My love of dolphins includes the stories of them being healers in places all over the world. I long to offer every broken spirit and body the experience of a healing hug. May my words and stories inform, uplift and delight your spirit and soothe your weary heart.
