INTEGRITY MONTH: DAY 8:

“Search yourself and find your passion

Stay in your circle of inspirational competence with emotional stability.

Shine your personality for others to follow

Have fun, enjoy yourself, and model your success!”― Joseph S. Spence Sr.

Isn’t that lovely? I think so. Other than some questions about the 2nd line, this feels like something I have done in my life.

Emotional stability did not come for me in this deal for some time. I still have moments of unstable thoughts and emotional upheaval. Not sure there really is such a thing as stability in the emotional realm.

What I DO think is that we can become stable with behaviors, more and more as time goes on, IF we are still working these steps. Not talking about them, not thinking about them, not reading them, but actively WORKING them. Over and over and over. I do this.

Perhaps my stability was more difficult to achieve than others. What I do know is that I would love to find the people who ARE doing this like I do. I have 3 people in my circle who do. There is a great deal of room for more. It is a gift to be actively working on our personal lives and spiritual connection. Perhaps one day there will be a greater circle. I hope so.

I am a therapist and counselor with long-term recovery from addictions and personal trauma. My writing reflects these experiences and the road I have traveled in 12-Step recovery settings, along with the work I have done for over 30 years in the field. My love of dolphins includes the stories of them being healers in places all over the world. I long to offer every broken spirit and body the experience of a healing hug. May my words and stories inform, uplift and delight your spirit and soothe your weary heart.
